Ever travel to a different country with the warning of “be careful with the lettuce and fish” or “don’t drink the water” but always thought that gaining a parasite was not in your cards with certain countries? That was my thoughts exactly as I traveled to South and Central America this past year. The countries themselves, they were mind expanding, beautiful and I have absolutely no regrets for traveling to them, but man oh man how I wish I was more careful with food and hygiene while I was traveling.
For months my health kept declining in so many different ways and no mater what herbal remedies I would try or change in routines, living, communities, etc. nothing could work and I was starting to think that my health was tremendously in trouble. Over some time of deep meditation consistanly, I started to be a little more aware of my intuitive thoughts that kept coming in and out of my mind, thinking that the issue was really a parasite or mold so my next step was to schedule an appointment with a doctor. I started small and went to a holistic doctor of mine back home in Ventura, California to get some things tested. Due to inflammation in my stomach and especially large intestine, Dr. had put me back on a Paleo/ Keto diet; so no grains, no sugar, and limit starchy vegetables + legumes. Personally, eating like this, my body loves it so to be back on this routine was no issue at all. After a few weeks of this diet and some other herbal medications, I decided to go camping with a dear friend for some wild crafting. Sure enough, this was the weekend where my luck came into play and I discovered the little bugger (at least one of them) who has been living in my stomach for months. Now knowing what I have, I’m so grateful I can start the process of getting rid of it.
So, to get rid of some parasites, most doctors will put you on a sugar free, low glucose, low carb diet since the worms like to eat sugar. Pretty much, I need to stay on the regimen with food that I have been engaging on. No problem, right? Except for the lack of certain things I love including a nice loaf of bread in the afternoon for a little pick me up. This is what lead me to create this delicious recipe of the paleo bread. It has nutritious value and is filled with flavor that will give your taste buds an abundance of pleasure and send your senses into sensual heaven. Not to mention it smells fantastic while baking in the oven. Now, this is not going to be a large bread like you may be used to but it defiantly can do the trick.
While making this bread once the last ingredient is folded in, it may appear very well, weird looking but trust me on when you put it in the pan, it will rise and bake together. Another note, the good thing about this recipe is that you can flavor it differently every single time you make it. If you feel like sage one day, do sage. Rosemary? Always. Oregano and thyme? Most definitely. Seasonally, this bread can be eaten at any point but it is high in fats, so make sure to not eat the loaf in one or two days. But if you do, hey, at least you enjoyed it :)
